By LEE BLESSING Directed by JUANITA ROCKWELL Baltimore/Washington Premiere January 17 - February 25, 2007 Motherhood, the greater good, and the fine line between good and evil.
If you could save thousands of lives by sacrificing your ethics, would you? Lee Blessing (A Walk In the Woods) brings together an esteemed eye surgeon and the mother of an African dictator, gives each an agenda, and unleashes a debate that careens between civility and anguish. Cora, the surgeon, hopes to win the release of colleagues held captive by an African dictator; the dictator's mother seeks the means to rid her country of her murderous son. Amid the ritual of taking tea, the two find common cause and struggle to accept not only their choices but what life has dealt them. Cast
